STEVE MORSE BAND To Perform at Norway's HELL BLUES FESTIVAL
June 9, 2005THE STEVE MORSE BAND, featuring DEEP PURPLE guitarist Steve Morse, will appear at the Hell Blues Festival in Norway on September 9. Steve will also reportedly host the HELL BLUES BAND at the "Hell Blues Night Extravaganza" on September 10.
DEEP PURPLE are in the process of recording a new studio album, with vocalist Ian Gillan scheduled to complete the vocals by mid-June before producer Mike Bradord gets down to the mix.
With regards to the musical direction of the new material, Bradford recently said, "To my ears, this album has a great classic DEEP PURPLE sound, without trying to rewrite a classic song. Steve Morse and Don Airey [keyboards] have really worked together to make that great guitar-organ combination sound that drove the early records."
As previously announced, DEEP PURPLE recently formally announced their split with EMI Records, who released "Abandon", "Live At Olympia" and "Bananas". Apart from back catalogue, this marks the end of EMI's current links with the DEEP PURPLE family after more than forty years.
